Log book for Lt D.W. Gay - 31 December 1944
This page from Lt. Gay's Log Book covers his flying experience on 31 December 1944 and the summary of his operations in December 1944. This time No.12 Squadron is mentioned by name.
Operation 10 was an attack on marshalling yards at Castel-Franco, but this time the attack had to be cancelled due to poor weather over the target. Once again the bombs were dropped out at sea.
The operational summary shows that Gay had reached 21 hours 30 minutes of operational flying, although December hadn't been a terribly succesful result.
Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material.
